About Dan
I started Your Story – Your Legacy to help people capture the moments that shaped them — in a way that feels honest, clear, and lasting.
From a young age, I’ve always been drawn to people’s stories. Hearing how they did things, what drove them, what they built, and why. I’ve always been inspired by the way a single decision, a risk, or a moment can change the course of a life. That curiosity — and the respect I have for people’s lived experience — is what sits behind the work I do now.
My own writing began with telling my story. My first book, What Now, was published in 2023, and the process became a way to look back, make sense of the years, and understand the threads that run through a life. It also became a way to leave something solid behind — a record my grandkids and future generations could hold onto long after I’m gone.
Since then, I’ve seen how powerful it is when someone takes the time to put their story into words. It gives shape to experiences that might otherwise fade, and it creates a clarity that families rarely get to hear spoken out loud.
Most people know they have a story worth keeping, but they’re not always sure where to begin. Through calm, guided conversations, I help draw out the experiences that matter and shape them into a narrative that feels true to who you are.
The process is steady, collaborative, and personal. There’s no pressure to perform or have everything figured out — just space to talk, reflect, and build your story at your own pace.
In the end, the goal is simple: to create something that feels true to you, and something your family can hold onto for years to come.
This work begins with listening
The process isn’t rushed or rigid. It starts with conversation — taking the time to understand your experiences, your perspective, and the moments that shaped your life.
From there, your story is shaped into a clear, natural narrative that feels true to who you are and strong enough to stand on its own.
It’s a steady, collaborative process built around listening, clarity, and getting the details right.
I stay with your story until the writing is sharp, honest, and ready to be shared in the way that feels right to you.
